Surviving in a world rife with photographers and other artists has it’s down moments. Those moments when you cannot help but compare yourself to someone else artistically, success-wise or just in general. Sometimes we forget that where we may be in our artistic journey may be a far cry from where someone else is. Truth is, there’s alot of people that WANT to be the next rockstar, be on the cover of magazines, be linked from 1,001 sources, be the next “it girl” (or guy). I’m not hear to trample on anyone’s dreams. Nope not at all but I am going to link help you along to the Artist’s Survival Kit from Keri Smith’s wonderful site.

"borrowed" from www.kerismith.com Artist's Survival Kit
The Artist’s Survival Kit has some really great advice, priorities checklists, pros/cons lists, tips on how to handle rejection and a great way to achieve recognition for yourself – in the most important way possible!
I highly recommend printing these little cards out and using them in times of artistic crisis. Because you know…we’ve mostly all been there, done that.
